The Continuum

Orly Kadosh’s artistic expressions are a collection of metaphors, based on both her innate intuition, and the singular way in which her vision and her homeland have become interlaced over the years. Weaving her ideas into natural objects and artifacts, she creates new allegories that represent her response to existential questions that have captivated humanity from time immemorial. This installation, The Continuum, is the essence of that spirit, with pieces that are collectively organized, displayed and documented, as a window into essential moments that reflect her life and her trajectory. Integrated in an organic way, the objects coalesce and transform iwith a capacity to question, learn, build, accept, decide, and ultimately choose to enter the healing process that is possible in art. The Continuum demonstrates the artist's aptitude to interact with her internal chaos. It is a return to the journey that she has taken, from the beginning of her existence, along a multitude of paths, towards an unknown future.

After years of avoiding her inner voice, she discovered a more profound and honest form of communication, by ultimately learning how to trust her intuition. Kadosh's work consistently deals with two major topics: individual identity and cultural hybridity. Through this installation, conceived almost entirely during the Covid 19 pandemic, she seeks to imagine a future that endures beyond the fragile state of earth’s present social, civil, political, and environmental conditions. Kadosh’s world of personal imagery reflects a wide range of emotions against an evolving aesthetic landscape, while continually seeking a synergy and an equilibrium between opposing points of view – a continuum. In this way, her observations of present human society are often echoed by remnants of material cultures from the past, just as her memories still echo the sound of her voice today. As a result, there is a solemnity in the silence, as the “living” objects create an inhabited room, and where visitors can sense questions, to which they have no answers beyond their own visceral reactions.
